Michael Hilton is an author of poems, short fiction, and plays. His works include “Blue Sky Somewhere” (Manhattan Repertory Theatre, Fall Play Festival 2009), “Dance With Winter” (Theaterhaus, Stuttgart; F.E.A.T.S. Festival 2014), “Rodeo Clowns” (NEAT, Dark Monday), and "Light Below Us" (NEAT, Dark Monday). Michael won the Governor's Award for Best Play in the State of New Jersey for his play “The Hollow” in 2004 and again for “The Art of Stephanie” the following year.

He studied playwrighting at Fordham University. He holds a Master of Arts from the University of Tübingen. He is currently working on a series of plays about the Jersey Shore called The River Plays. He has been a member of the Writers in Stuttgart since 2016. Michael strongly believes that writing and the arts play a significant role in creating a more articulate and extraordinary society, and feels priveleged to be able to pursue his craft in the company of such gifted and dynamic artists right here in Stuttgart.
