Katharine Schmidt is a writer, editor, & translator. In autumn of 2016, she translated the labels for the Haus der Geschichte Baden-Württemberg’s special exhibition “Carl Laemmle Presents,” focusing on the life & work of the founder of Universal Pictures.

Katharine writes poems & short stories, and has begun work on a longer piece of fiction. She worked for years as a newspaper & wire-service reporter, both as a staff writer in the USA and as a free-lancer in Germany for U.S. media organizations.
