WiS Meeting Minutes – December 7, 2019

 The prompt: 

  • Haiku – non-rhyming poetry defined by syllable counts 5-7-5 on the topic of St Louis as a way of collecting ideas for the 60th anniversary of Stuttgart and St Louis being sister cities in 2020

 Critiques:

  • Jadi – The gray zone 
  • Andrea – A very special ABC (Transition)
  • Katherine – Nightsweep – Winter Morning and Early Morning December Sky
  • Jim – Growing up
  • Zehra – Things unseen
  • Barbara – Blue moon and the exquisite art of idleness

 Business:

  • The DAZ wants the writers group to write something for the 60th anniversary of the partnership between Stuttgart and St Louis as sister cities.
  • We discussed the possibility of a booklet on our perspectives on the DAZ or the USA for the 25th anniversary of the DAZ Stuttgart.
  • We could do our reading at the DAZ on our perspectives on the US.
  • Barbara, Zehra, Jadi, Vlora, Jim, Andrea and Katherine have signed up read at the next reading on January 6. 
  • We did an initial rehearsal for the January reading. The next practice will be January 4th from noon to three at Andrea‘s house. See the website for her address.
  • Andrea will send directions to where she lives to members who are going to attend and coming by public transportation.
  • The January meeting is on January 18th.
  • Jim will send Cindy an invoice for the cost of repairing the website
  • Member communication through Member Comments is still not working. Jim will work on it after his photography assignments are finished.
