Business:

  • Our first practice for the reading on October 23 will be in Zoom after the meeting on September 26. We will break at 13:00 for a half hour and our practice will be between 13:30 and 15:30, two hours. Readers, please put it in your calendars now and plan to stay for the entire meeting.
  • Hannah and Ayo were preparing the online presentation concept. Hopefully they will present it at the September meeting.
  • A successful online presentation is a combination of reading and video quality.
  • The reading quality:
    1. The reading quality is based on practicing reading slowly with feeling.
    2. Setting the microphone on your computer high enough for viewers to hear clearly.
  • The video quality has 5 components.
    1. Background – Clean simple or interesting background
    2. No bright light behind you – Do not have windows in the background
    3. Have sufficient light in front of you so your face is lit equally or brighter than the background
    4. Place the text you are reading on the screen so that when you are reading you are looking at the audience.
    5. Make sure the computer camera is positioned so that viewers are not looking up your nose while you are reading

13:00 – Finished:
