  • We were officially invited to read on January 11, 2021 for Dark Monday at the Merlin by Charles Urban.
  • Jadi will inform Charles Urban of our acceptance and our theme.

• Dark Monday reading in January:

  • Dark Monday (NEAT) will host WiS on Jan 11th
  • Dress in black
  • Time: 20:00 (not discussed – last January’s time)
  • Place: Kulturzentrum Merlin e.V.
  • Theme will be Pandemonium
  • Ticket price (not discussed – last year was 5,00€)
  • Readings will be 8-10 minutes each

• Because most writers were not prepared with their readings for the October 23 reading, the practice dates were moved.
• The official description and theme for the October reading is:

“On 23 October, 2020 the Writers in Stuttgart are celebrating the transatlantic relationship between the USA and Germany in honor of the 25th anniversary of the DAZ in Stuttgart. In their first live stream reading, the Writers in Stuttgart will explore American, German as well as a variety of other international perspectives on national, international and intercultural identities and the German-American relationship of past, present and future. • October practice dates:

  1. Friday October 9, 15:00 – 17:00. During this practice session we will be testing live streaming, the virtual backgrounds and deciding on the appropriate apparel to wear.
  2. Saturday October 14:00 – 16:00 (following the regular meeting).
• Ayo presented virtual backgrounds. We individually tested several backgrounds. Some worked and others could not get a smooth background. Ayo will determine the cause and send us each instructions on how to install virtual backgrounds via Members Comments.
• Ayo will send a set of backgrounds to try via regular email.
• We should be ready to test virtual backgrounds during our practice session on October 9th.
